Lilian Jairo ft. Henrick Mruma – Usiye Lala

Kenyan gospel singer Lilian Jairo has crossed the border for this one, teaming up with Tanzania’s Henrick Mruma on “Usiye Lala”. You can stream and download Lilian Jairo Usiye Lala MP3 right here.
“Usiye Lala” means “You who never sleep” in Swahili. It’s a name for God taken from Psalm 121, which says the One who watches over His people will never slumber or sleep. People get tired. Friends get busy. Even the people who love us most can’t be there every minute. But God never takes a break from watching over you.
That’s a comforting thought on the nights when you can’t sleep yourself, when you’re lying awake worrying about tomorrow. This song is a reminder that you can rest, because someone else is keeping watch. It’s also great to see Kenyan and Tanzanian artists coming together, showing that Swahili gospel music belongs to the whole region.
Henrick Mruma has been on a good run lately. Check out his feature on Roland Robert – Nakuabudu, or find all his songs here.
